Hello Windows Insiders, today marks the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.4367 (KB5044373) to the Beta Channel. This update brings a variety of changes and improvements, which are categorized into two distinct groups: new features, enhancements, and fixes that are gradually being rolled out to those who have opted in for the latest updates (accessible via Settings > Windows Update), and those that are available to all users in the Beta Channel. For further details, please refer to the Reminders section at the end of this post.
Changes and Improvements gradually being rolled out to the Beta Channel with toggle on*
[General]
- This update introduces a selection of general improvements and fixes designed to enhance the overall experience for Insiders using this build on their PCs.
[Windows Share]
- We are excited to announce the addition of a feature that allows users to share directly with applications that support sharing in Windows. This can be done by right-clicking on local files in File Explorer or on the desktop.
Fixes gradually being rolled out to the Beta Channel with toggle on*
[Start menu]
- Resolved an issue that caused some Insiders to experience unexpected spacing between items in the Start menu’s all apps list.
[Live captions]
- Fixed a problem that led to live captions crashing upon launch for certain Insiders in the previous two builds.
[Taskbar]
- Addressed an issue where pressing WIN + multiple times did not cycle through multiple windows of the same app, such as pressing WIN + 1.
- Fixed a glitch for users with uncombined taskbars, where app icons were incorrectly displayed instead of the window’s icon next to the window name.
Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel
- Insiders in the Beta Channel will receive updates based on Windows 11, version 23H2 through an enablement package (Build 22635.xxxx).
- Many features in the Beta Channel are rolled out using Control Feature Rollout technology, initially targeting a subset of Insiders and gradually expanding as we gather feedback to assess their performance before wider distribution.
- For those eager to be among the first to access features gradually rolled out to you, please enable the toggle to receive the latest updates via Settings > Windows Update. Over time, we will increase the rollout of features to all users with the toggle activated. If you choose to keep this toggle off, new features will still be rolled out to your device over time once they are ready.
- It is important to note that features and experiences included in these builds may not always be released, as we explore various concepts and gather feedback. Features may evolve, be removed, or replaced, and may not be released beyond the Windows Insiders program. Some of these features could appear in future Windows releases when they’re ready.
- Localization for features currently in active development may not be fully completed, and will be addressed over time as features are finalized. If you encounter localization issues in your language, please report them via the Feedback Hub.
- Given that the Dev and Beta Channels represent parallel development paths, there may be instances where features and experiences debut in the Beta Channel first.
- For a comprehensive overview of which builds are in which Insider channel, please visit Flight Hub.
Thanks,
Amanda & Brandon
