Perform Some Preliminary Checks
Restart your computer and router, check for damaged Ethernet cables, and try different ports on both devices.
Discharge Static Charge
Shut down your computer, disconnect power cables, and press the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any static electricity.
Reset TCP/IP Stack and Winsock Catalog
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type “netsh winsock reset” and press Enter.
- Type “netsh int ip reset” and press Enter.
- Restart your computer.
Configure IPv4 to Obtain IP Address Automatically
Set your IP assignment settings to Automatic (DHCP) in your Ethernet settings.
Release and Renew Your IP Address
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type “ipconfig /release” and press Enter.
- Type “ipconfig /renew” and press Enter.
Flush the DNS Cache
Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type “ipconfig /flushdns”, then press Enter.
Reinstall the Ethernet Driver
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand the Network adapters category.
- Right-click on the Ethernet driver and select Uninstall device.
- Install the driver from the downloaded file.
Disable Proxy Server Over LAN
- Open Internet Options.
- Go to the Connections tab and click LAN settings.
- Uncheck “Use a proxy server for your LAN” if it is checked.
- Click Apply and OK.
Temporarily Disable Antivirus Protection
Turn off Windows Security or any third-party antivirus software temporarily.
