Google Play Store to Introduce Auto Open Feature for Installed Apps
One common frustration among users of the Google Play Store is the lack of automatic launching of apps after installation. Instead, users are required to manually locate the app in their library or on their home screen.
According to a report by Android Authority, Google is now in the process of developing a feature that will automatically open newly installed apps from the Play Store. This new feature, known as App Auto Open, is expected to be a game-changer for users.
The feature works by sending users a notification 24 hours after an app is installed if it has not been opened. This serves as a helpful reminder for users who may have forgotten to open the app after installation.
If both the auto open and reminder features are implemented, users will have the convenience of having apps automatically opened or receiving reminders to open them on their Android smartphones. This new functionality could also be integrated with the recently introduced feature that allows for simultaneous downloads.
