Hello Windows Insiders, today marks the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.8079 (KB 5079482) to the Beta Channel. This update brings a variety of changes and improvements, organized into two categories: new features and notable fixes. These updates are gradually being rolled out to Insiders who have opted to receive the latest updates through the Settings > Windows Update menu.
Changes and Improvements Gradually Being Rolled Out with Toggle On*
[Input]
- Improved explorer.exe reliability when closing the input flyout.
- Enhanced reliability of configuring the fluid dictation option in voice typing (Windows key plus H) settings.
[Network and Sharing]
- Resolved an issue where the Network and Sharing Center displayed two active Wi-Fi connections after switching networks. The center now accurately reflects a single active Wi-Fi connection upon connecting to a new network.
Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel
- Many features are rolled out using Controlled Feature Rollout technology, starting with a subset of Insiders and gradually expanding as feedback is monitored.
- The desktop watermark in the lower right corner of the desktop is a standard feature for Windows Insider pre-release builds.
- For those eager to receive features as they are gradually rolled out, ensure the toggle for the latest updates is turned ON via Settings > Windows Update. If left OFF, new features will be rolled out over time once they are ready.
- Features included in these builds may not always be released, as we explore different concepts and gather feedback. Changes, removals, or replacements may occur, and some features could appear in future Windows releases when they are finalized.
- Some features in development may not be fully localized initially; localization will improve as features are finalized. Please report any localization issues via the Feedback Hub.
