Hello, Windows Insiders. Today marks the release of Windows Insider Preview Build 29560.1000, now available in the Windows 11 Insider Canary Channel as part of the optional 29500 build series.

What’s new in Canary Build 29560.1000

Changes and Improvements gradually being rolled out with toggle on*

  • This update introduces significant platform changes as we transition to a new active development build.

[General]

  • We have resolved an issue that caused some Insiders to experience increased freezes following the latest flights.
  • Another fix addresses the problem of attached USB devices not functioning for certain Insiders after the recent flight.
  • Additionally, we have enhanced the reliability of the Settings for Screensaver, ensuring it can be set back to None with greater ease.

Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel

  • It is important to note that these builds may exhibit instability and could be released with limited documentation. Joining the Windows Insider program grants you early access to the latest Windows 11 features and updates.
  • The builds available in the Canary Channel reflect the most recent platform changes early in the development cycle and should not be equated with any specific Windows release. Features and experiences included in these builds may never reach the public, as we explore various concepts and gather feedback. Expect that features may evolve, be removed, or replaced before they are finalized.
  • Many features in the Canary Channel are deployed using Control Feature Rollout technology, beginning with a select group of Insiders and gradually expanding as we assess feedback before wider distribution.
  • The desktop watermark displayed in the lower right corner of the screen is a standard feature for Windows Insider pre-release builds.
  • Some features may first appear in the Dev and Beta Channels before making their way to the Canary Channel.
  • For those Insiders eager to receive features as they are rolled out, you can activate the toggle to access the latest updates via Settings > Windows Update. Over time, we will increase the rollout of features to all users with the toggle enabled. If you choose to keep this toggle off, new features will be gradually introduced to your PC as they become ready.
  • Be aware that some features currently in development may not be fully localized, with localization improvements occurring as features are finalized. Should you encounter localization issues in your language, we encourage you to report them through the Feedback Hub.
  • To exit the Canary Channel, a clean installation of Windows 11 will be necessary.
  • For a comprehensive overview of which build is in each Insider channel, please visit Flight Hub.
