I believe I have successfully unlocked the potential of Vampire Crawlers in a way that could redefine gameplay strategies. This isn’t merely a casual observation; rather, I am confident that I have discovered a build that stands out as one of the most effective in the entire game. The secret to this success lies in a rather amusing character—a skeleton named Mortaccio.
Vampire Crawlers Mortaccio Build
Mortaccio, a skeletal Crawler, becomes accessible after defeating 444 skeletons. He begins with a selection of Bone cards and a single armor card, enhancing your Amount stat every time a blue card is played. The strategy to dominate with Mortaccio is straightforward: inundate your foes with a relentless stream of Bones while boosting your Amount stat at every opportunity. This involves playing numerous armor cards, and equipping the Your Shield My Liege Arcana, which allows armor to persist between turns, effectively rendering Mortaccio invincible.
At the outset of each run, securing a Spellbinder card is paramount. These cards, costing 0 Mana, extend your Duration by 2, ensuring Mortaccio remains active throughout the encounter. Additionally, Duration-boosting gems can further enhance this strategy.
With Mortaccio in play, every application of armor results in an increase in Bones, which cost nothing to play. This can be combined with Golden Armor to significantly bolster your defenses. Integrating Duplicator cards into your deck will amplify your offensive capabilities, unleashing a formidable barrage of calcium against your adversaries.
As you delve deeper into the dungeons, it becomes essential to upgrade your strategy. Seek out gems that enhance Might, Area, and Amount to fortify your Bones. The Reverse Combo gem is particularly valuable when applied to Golden Armor, allowing your Bone cards to benefit from combo bonuses and inflict additional damage.
This build thrives on the ability to re-roll, enabling you to target specific needs effectively. The most beneficial gems for this configuration include Decimate and Triple Damage, both of which can elevate Bones to a significant threat level. While Triple Damage is self-explanatory, Decimate ensures a card inflicts a fixed 10% of the enemy’s HP as damage.
However, single-target encounters, such as boss fights, require a different approach, as Bones may not bounce effectively in these scenarios. Ideally, you should pursue a card that costs two Mana to synergize with Golden Armor. My personal recommendation is the Holy Wand.
Beyond this, continue to accumulate gems like Echo or Copy, which will allow you to unleash a staggering number of Bones each turn. A Clover card is also worth considering, as its repeated Luck buffs can help you discover more powerful gems. Finally, enhance your hand size with a Bracer and include additional blue Armor or Pummarola cards to trigger Mortaccio’s skill, ensuring a smooth passage through even the most challenging dungeons. While there may be alternative builds worth exploring, for now, I find myself quite content with this bone-headed approach.
