Microsoft’s Latest Windows 11 Update Enhances Performance and Recovery
Earlier this week, Microsoft unveiled its latest Windows 11 preview update, designated as KB5101684. This update comes with a promise of significant enhancements to RAM consumption, addressing the growing concern that running Windows 11 on minimum-spec PCs has become increasingly challenging.
In conjunction with this D-update, Microsoft also rolled out a new dynamic update. For those unfamiliar, dynamic updates are designed to refine the Windows Recovery process, introducing improvements through updates to the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE), commonly referred to as Safe OS updates. These updates also extend to the Setup file binaries, enhancing the overall installation experience.
The dynamic update packages are intended for application to existing Windows images before they are deployed. This proactive approach ensures that essential components, such as Language Packs (LP) and Features on Demand (FODs), are preserved during the upgrade process. Notably, VBScript is currently classified as an FOD within Windows 11 24H2.
For this release, Microsoft has focused solely on a recovery update for Windows 11. The company detailed the update as follows:

This update enhances the Windows recovery environment (WinRE). Following installation, the WinRE version on the device should reflect 10.0.26100.8971.
Microsoft has indicated that both the Recovery and Setup updates will be automatically downloaded and installed through the Windows Update channel, streamlining the process for users and ensuring that their systems remain up-to-date with the latest improvements.
