Improbable, the innovative UK tech company, has unveiled its latest venture: an AI messaging application designed to streamline business processes. This new product, named Bolter, emerges from a period of stealth development and is backed by a substantial million investment from Improbable itself.
Evolution of Improbable
Founded in 2012 and having raised a remarkable 0 million from SoftBank in 2017, Improbable has undergone a significant transformation. Originally rooted in gaming and metaverse infrastructure, the company has repositioned itself as a venture builder, focusing on creating and nurturing its own products. While Bolter represents the third product to be launched since this strategic pivot in 2023, it follows the introduction of the blockchain solution Somnia and the AI tool Kallikor.
Features of Bolter
Bolter is the brainchild of a dedicated team of seven, with its inception stemming from a personal project initiated by Improbable’s CEO and co-founder, Herman Narula. This AI-native messaging platform empowers non-technical users to automate business processes simply by articulating their requirements in plain text. The platform’s AI agents are designed to collaborate seamlessly, planning and delegating tasks based on user-defined goals.
- AI Model-Neutral: Bolter intelligently routes requests to the most suitable AI model for each specific task, ensuring optimal performance.
- European Sovereignty: Bolter emphasizes its European credentials, advocating for the development of major messaging platforms within the region to compete with dominant US tech firms.
Competitive Landscape
In a landscape dominated by some of the world’s largest technology companies, Narula acknowledges the challenges ahead. “We know who we’re competing with, and they are some of the biggest companies in the world,” he stated. “We don’t know if we’ll win, but we believe that a messaging platform designed for mixed teams of humans and AI agents is a worthy endeavor, particularly in Europe.” He further highlighted that Bolter is built upon a decade of experience in managing some of the most demanding real-time infrastructures globally, underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence.
