The Kremlin Criticizes US Ban on Kaspersky
The Kremlin has criticized the US decision to ban Moscow’s cybersecurity firm Kaspersky over security concerns, calling it “unfair competition” from American companies. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Kaspersky Lab is a highly competitive company on the international level and accused the US of using unfair tactics.
The US Commerce Department claimed that Russia had used Kaspersky to collect and weaponize sensitive US information. In response to the ban, Kaspersky’s antivirus software sales have been halted in the US, and three entities linked to the firm have been added to a list of companies posing national security concerns.
