The assessment, which took place from January 7 to January 19, 2026, involved a rigorous analysis of 250 phishing URLs. NordVPN’s Threat Protection Pro secured the fourth position among the tested products, trailing behind Norton Antivirus Plus, Avast Free Antivirus, and Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security Plus. This ranking underscores NordVPN’s dual capability: enhancing online privacy while serving as a formidable defense against online scams.
Threat Protection Pro is designed to shield users from a range of online threats, including phishing attempts, tracking, malware, advertisements, and scams. Operating at the network level, it scans all traffic directly on the user’s device, providing protection without necessitating an active VPN connection.
This advanced tool is an evolution of NordVPN’s previous tracker blocker, offering a more effective solution compared to its DNS-based predecessor, Threat Protection (formerly known as Lite). The revamped version not only blocks malicious websites and trackers but also enhances overall user security.
Currently, Threat Protection Pro is available exclusively to higher-tier subscribers, specifically those on the Plus, Complete, and Ultra plans, and is compatible with Windows and macOS platforms.
