Sales of Kaspersky Lab software banned in the US
The Biden administration has announced that sales of software by Russian cybersecurity giant Kaspersky Lab will be prohibited in the United States. This decision comes after a series of allegations regarding Kaspersky’s ties to Russian intelligence.
Kaspersky Lab has long been recognized as a key player in the cybersecurity industry, catering to both consumer and business markets. The company’s products, such as SMB firewalls and business VPNs, have been popular choices for many organizations.
However, concerns about Kaspersky’s alleged connections to the Russian government have led to the ban on its software sales in the US. One of the most serious allegations is that Kaspersky Lab obtained hacking tools from a US National Security Agency worker and passed them on to Russian intelligence.
As a result of these allegations, the Biden administration has taken decisive action to prevent the sale of Kaspersky Lab software in the US, citing national security concerns.
