Almost exactly 5 years after it was announced, Capcom’s astronaut action game Pragmata finally has a release date: ‘It’s real’

Five years ago, Capcom introduced the gaming community to Pragmata, a title that promised to be one of the first “next-gen” experiences for the PlayStation 5. This action game, featuring an astronaut and a mysterious little girl, captured the imagination of many. However, as time passed, it became evident that the game was far from completion. Three years ago, Capcom released a trailer that hinted at significant delays, leaving fans in suspense about the project’s future.

Renewed Hope for Pragmata

Fast forward to the present, and it appears that Capcom has navigated the challenges that plagued Pragmata’s development. During a recent State of Play event, the company unveiled a new trailer, announcing that the game is now set for release in 2026. The trailer concluded with a playful note: “It’s real xD,” signaling a renewed commitment to the project.

While the trailer was showcased at a PlayStation event, Capcom has confirmed that Pragmata will also be available on Steam. This science fiction action-adventure game promises to bring a unique hacking twist to its gameplay. In the trailer, viewers are introduced to Diana, an android who rides on the shoulder of astronaut Hugh and possesses the ability to hack robots during combat, adding an intriguing layer to the game’s mechanics.

Despite the long wait, details about Pragmata remain sparse. However, with a tentative release date now in place, anticipation is likely to grow as Capcom continues to develop this ambitious title.
