Capcom Aims for 15% Female Management Staff
Japanese publishing giant Capcom has set a goal to have 15% of its management staff be women. This commitment was announced during the Q&A segment of its 45th ordinary general meeting of shareholders in response to a question about increasing the ratio of female managers at the company.
Currently, 21.1% of Capcom employees and 13.6% of its “core talent” are women. While there is no specific timeline for reaching the 15% target, the company is actively working towards this goal.
In addition to promoting gender diversity, Capcom is also open to hiring non-Japanese individuals for director positions. The company stated, “We select director candidates based on their ability to oversee management and provide valuable advice, taking into account the skills and characteristics needed for our management strategy.”
Capcom acknowledged that all of its internal directors are currently male but expressed a commitment to considering women and non-Japanese individuals for future director roles. By increasing the ratio of female managers, the company hopes to pave the way for more diversity in its leadership team.
