Google Play Store to Display Gaming Achievements on Game Listings
Back in October, a Google Play system update introduced a new Play Store alert prompting users to create a Google Play Games profile. This profile allows users to sign in to supported Android games automatically, save progress, and earn achievements. What’s intriguing is that this alert originates from the Play Store, not the Play Games app.
Through an APK teardown, a sneak peek into how gaming achievements will be showcased through the Play Games profile on the Play Store has been revealed. Currently, when searching for a game on the Play Store, there is no mention of achievements. However, in the future, a dedicated section for achievements will be prominently displayed on a game’s Play Store page.
If users have a Play Games profile, which has been actively encouraged since October, they will be able to view earned achievements for a specific title directly on the game’s page. The achievements will be positioned under the install/play/uninstall buttons, providing users with easy access to track their progress and view the rarity of each achievement.
This new feature eliminates the need to navigate to the Play Games app to view achievement details, offering a convenient perk for users who may not regularly use or prefer the Play Games app.
