How to build a workbench in Grounded 2

In the immersive world of Grounded 2, players quickly encounter the challenge of constructing a workbench, a pivotal element for crafting advanced gear. After venturing through the initial zones of the park, you’ll gather an assortment of intriguing bug parts and materials. However, a perplexing message appears when you attempt to craft new items: they require a workbench, which seems absent from the build menu. This initial confusion stems from the necessity to analyze a specific material before the workbench becomes available for construction.

How to unlock the workbench in Grounded 2

To set the wheels in motion for your crafting endeavors, the first step is to analyze a grass plank at a resource analyzer. These analyzers can be found in various locations, with the Ranger Outpost: Snackbar being the first notable stop. This outpost is conveniently surrounded by abundant grass, which you’ll need to harvest to obtain the required grass planks.

Locate a grass stalk and press E to chop it down. This action will yield multiple grass planks. Although these planks won’t fit in your inventory, you can simply carry one over to the resource analyzer. Once there, interact with the analyzer using E, and select the grass plank from the list to research it. This crucial step will unlock the workbench schematic.

With the schematic in hand, you can now proceed to craft the workbench. The materials required for this construction are:

  • Three grass planks
  • Four sprigs
  • Two sap

Sprigs, the small two-leaf stems that sprout from the ground, are typically plentiful in your surroundings. Sap, easily identifiable by its small brown orbs clinging to wood and roots, is also readily available. Gather the necessary materials, stacking the three grass planks as you did before, and transport them to your designated building site to complete your workbench.
