Kaitāia teen completes Minecraft replica of hometown in global project

In a remarkable achievement, Kaitāia has become the first urban area to be fully realized on the server, a milestone that brings a sense of pride to its creator. “It’s a great feeling knowing that Kaitāia is the very first urban area to be fully completed on the server,” he expressed, emphasizing the uniqueness of this accomplishment. “This means Kaitāia will forever be the town that was made first, and that fact can never be taken away from us.” The creator finds humor and joy in the exclusivity that Kaitāia now holds among New Zealand towns and cities.

Reflecting on his journey, he shared mixed emotions upon completing the project, but ultimately, joy prevailed. “I am mostly overjoyed that it was successful and my many hours on the server were not wasted,” he noted. His dream of creating Kaitāia in Minecraft had been a long-standing aspiration, and seeing it come to fruition left him in a state of disbelief. “I am still processing the fact that Kaitāia has been completed and I’m still finding it hard to believe that it is fully made in Minecraft,” he admitted, recalling the uncertainty he felt during the project’s early days.

Future Plans and Expanding Horizons

Beginning his endeavor on September 16, 2022, he completed the project in the early hours of Monday morning and continues to remain actively involved in BTE. Looking ahead, he plans to extend his creative reach beyond Kaitāia. “I have gotten many requests from people to do the nearby towns of Ahipara and Awanui, so I will absolutely get started on that,” he stated. Additionally, he has secured a commission from a client in Taupō, who is paying him to create a significant portion of the town in January.

Currently, he is exploring various locations, applying his skills in different projects. “Right now, I am kind of bouncing around building in random locations,” he explained. He has applied to join the Ireland team and is also contributing to BTE Africa, working on Egypt, as well as BTE Ukraine, where he is tasked with building the city of Mariupol. This exploratory phase allows him to gain experience in diverse environments before embarking on his next major projects in Awanui, Ahipara, and Taupō.
