In a recent development, the much-anticipated PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and developed by Insomniac Games alongside Nixxes Software, has encountered performance issues and crashes shortly after its release. Players have reported significant disruptions, particularly when utilizing ray-tracing features.
In response to these concerns, the development team has swiftly rolled out a hotfix aimed at resolving some of the device hang crashes that players experienced during gameplay with ray-tracing enabled. The update explicitly states, “This hotfix addresses some of the device hang crashes that could occur while playing the game with ray-tracing enabled.”
The developers have emphasized that the adjustments made in this patch are informed by player feedback and insights gathered from their crash reporting system. They acknowledge the existence of additional crashes and express their commitment to delivering these initial fixes promptly. “We appreciate all the feedback you have provided, and we continue to closely monitor crashes. Our QA and development teams are actively investigating and working on additional patches to further improve stability and address bugs as soon as possible,” they stated.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently available for players on both the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms, accessible through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
