Streaming platform Noice is closing down

In a significant development for the tech landscape, Finnish live-streaming platform Noice has announced its impending closure. The news was shared by CEO Tuomas Rinta via a LinkedIn post, where he conveyed the difficult decision to the staff earlier this week. Despite a commendable fundraising effort that secured million in 2023, the company struggled to attract additional investment.

Reflections on a Challenging Journey

Rinta emphasized that the decision to shut down was not unexpected for the team, as discussions regarding the challenging fundraising environment had been ongoing. “It wasn’t a surprise to anyone in the company,” he noted, adding that the team had maintained a sense of hope until the very end, wishing for a more favorable outcome that would allow their narrative to continue.

He reflected on his own tenure at Noice, which, while shorter than that of many colleagues who dedicated over five years to building the platform, was nonetheless filled with ambition and innovation. “Building something new, bold, different,” he described the collective effort of the team.

In his message, Rinta acknowledged the emotional toll such news can take on employees. “In these moments, people go through many emotions – disappointment, frustration, even worry, as the loss of your job in this market can be scary,” he stated. However, he also expressed a desire for the team to eventually feel a sense of pride when they look back on their accomplishments, despite the current challenges they face.
