Miami-Dade man accused of sharing child sex abuse videos on Kik messenger

In a troubling development from Miami-Dade County, authorities have apprehended a 28-year-old man, Juan Carlos Montejo Jr., in connection with the distribution of disturbing videos depicting child sexual abuse. The investigation, which spanned several months, was initiated following a tip-off from the Broward Sheriff’s Office to the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Details of the Investigation

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began in July when detectives discovered that Montejo had uploaded multiple videos showcasing the abuse of young girls, some as young as under three years old, through the messaging app Kik. The app itself played a crucial role in this case, as it flagged and reported the illicit content to the authorities.

The arrest report provides a harrowing account of the videos, which depicted victims ranging in age from under three to twelve years old. In late January, deputies conducted surveillance on Montejo’s residence located on Southwest 112th Avenue, leading to his arrest on Monday evening.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Montejo is facing four felony charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material. He is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with a bond set at ,000.
