This glitch prevents newly installed apps from appearing on the home screen, despite the settings indicating otherwise.
The home screen has undergone significant transformations in Android 16, with a refreshed customization menu and a reorganization of feature displays. Overall, these enhancements have been well-received, and aside from a few minor hiccups, the update is being regarded as a success.
One particular issue that users have encountered relates to the installation of new applications. Typically, when a user downloads an app from the Play Store, the icon is expected to appear on the home screen upon completion of the installation. However, in this latest update, newly installed apps are not showing up on the home screen, even when the relevant setting is enabled.

Users can locate the setting by long-pressing the home screen, navigating to home settings, and selecting add app icons to home screen. This setting is enabled by default, which has led to increased visibility of the bug among users following the update.
Despite this inconvenience, it is important to note that the bug is relatively minor. The newly installed apps remain accessible through the app drawer, and their functionality is intact, ensuring that users can still utilize the applications without any loss of performance.
