The Pixel Weather widget now lets you catch up on the forecast with a single tap

Google continues to refine the Pixel Weather app, enhancing its functionality with a series of subtle yet impactful updates. The latest version introduces a refresh button on the home screen widgets, allowing users to manually update their weather information at a moment’s notice. Previously, the widget updated automatically at set intervals, leaving users without control over the timing of these updates.

New Features and Interface Adjustments

The refresh button, now positioned in the top-right corner of the larger Weather widget, empowers users to fetch the latest weather data rather than relying on potentially outdated information. This feature is exclusive to the larger widget, but interestingly, activating it will also refresh the smaller widget if both are in use across different screens.

In addition to the refresh functionality, the app has undergone a design tweak that affects how users navigate through hourly and daily weather predictions. Previously equipped with tiny arrow buttons for scrubbing through forecasts, these controls have been removed. Users can now swipe left or right over the cards to view different time slots, streamlining the interface while potentially making room for future enhancements.

The Pixel Weather app remains a top choice for those who prioritize comprehensive weather tracking. With its engaging visuals and detailed data, it offers a personalized AI summary that assists users in planning their travels. As Google continues to innovate, these updates reflect a commitment to enhancing user experience while maintaining the app’s already robust capabilities.
