Yampolskiy, also a director at the University of Louisville’s Cyber Security Laboratory, contends that the probability of AI leading to humanity’s downfall is nearly a certainty. He uses the term “p(doom)” to describe this scenario, which refers to the likelihood of generative AI gaining dominance over humans or worse.
