Google Unveils “Google Vids” at Cloud Next 2024
At the forefront of innovation, Google has recently showcased its latest venture in the realm of artificial intelligence during the Cloud Next 2024 conference. The tech giant introduced “Google Vids,” a cutting-edge AI-powered video creation app tailored for Workspace users. This new tool is designed to streamline the video production process, offering features such as storyboard generation, a variety of editing templates, and customizable voiceover options.
Delving into the capabilities of Google Vids, as detailed in a Keyword post, users are presented with an intuitive platform that simplifies the creation of engaging video content. The app’s AI suggests scenes from a rich library of stock videos, images, and music, while also providing the flexibility to add personal touches with custom voiceovers. Collaboration is made effortless within Workspace, allowing teams to co-create and share projects securely from their browsers. Google Vids is expected to make its debut in Workspace Labs come June 2024.
Google Docs is also set to receive a fresh “tabs experience,” enhancing the organization of related information within documents. Aesthetic updates are on the horizon too, with new cover images that span the width of the page, adding a touch of sophistication to documents. These enhancements are anticipated to roll out in the upcoming weeks.
Sheets aficionados can look forward to a design refresh that promises to refine the formatting and organization of data. A suite of new templates will also be introduced, offering users a head start on their projects. These updates for Sheets are slated to appear in the near future as well.
Gmail is not left behind in this wave of innovation. An update to the “Help me write” feature will incorporate voice capabilities, and Gemini’s “Polish” tool is set to transform notes into polished emails. These features will gradually become available to Gemini Enterprise, Business, and Google One AI Premium customers through Workspace Labs.
Google Meet is also receiving attention with the upcoming “Translate for me in Meet” feature, which will provide automatic detection and translation for captions in 52 additional languages. However, this feature will be exclusive to customers who opt for the new AI Meetings and Messaging add-on, priced at per user per month, and is expected to launch in June.
Lastly, Google is enhancing security within Workspace with the introduction of “AI Security,” a add-on that leverages AI to continuously evaluate, classify, and protect sensitive files in Drive. This feature is now available for Workspace users, marking another step in Google’s commitment to leveraging AI for improved productivity and security.
