HarmonyOS NEXT: Huawei’s Leap into Software Independence

The anticipated debut of HarmonyOS NEXT is set to coincide with the launch of the Mate 70 series, with a developer preview already in the hands of app creators since January. Consumers can expect the stable version to surface in the first quarter of 2024, promising a fresh experience with a Harmony kernel at its core—boasting triple the efficiency and reduced power consumption compared to traditional Linux-based systems.

At the Analyst Summit 2024, Huawei’s Rotating Chairman, Xu Zhijun, shed light on the company’s aspirations to extend HarmonyOS NEXT to its international customer base.
