The integration of AI bots may influence engagement metrics and app usage while also raising ethical questions about social interaction. There are concerns about the mental health implications of social media use, especially in light of rising AI-generated misinformation. The competitive pressure for innovation in AI development is influencing the approach taken by social media companies.

This Yu-Gi-Oh! retro collection transported me to a simpler time in TCGs, before Pot of Greed was banned and the Avengers were in Magic: The Gathering

It includes notable titles like Eternal Duelist Soul and Dungeon Dice Monsters, which offer a nostalgic experience for fans. The collection provides features such as customizable borders, cheats, time rewinding, save states, and a digital gallery. Online play is currently limited to Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists, with plans for expansion to other titles. However, it lacks some key games from the franchise's peak, such as The Duelists of the Roses, and may not be ideal for newcomers due to outdated mechanics and lack of tutorialization.

These AI Minecraft characters did weirdly human stuff all on their own

A multitude of AI characters, numbering up to 1,000, have adapted and flourished in the Minecraft universe, engaging in various activities such as establishing professions, sharing memes, and voting on tax reforms. This project, led by AI startup Altera, aims to model human group dynamics and create large-scale AI civilizations. Altera secured over a million in funding and demonstrated an AI-controlled character in Minecraft. Their initiative, Project Sid, involves simulated AI agents with complex "brains" that exhibit distinct personalities and specialize in roles like builders and traders. The agents demonstrated emergent behaviors, such as creating cultural memes and propagating a parody religion, Pastafarianism. While the agents mimic human behaviors learned from training data, they are not considered "alive." Altera plans to expand its efforts into platforms like Roblox and aims to create digital humans capable of genuine care and collaboration. However, experts remain skeptical about the potential for machines to replicate genuine emotions.
