Blizzard Entertainment issued a cease and desist order to Turtle WoW, a private server for World of Warcraft, following a ruling in a copyright infringement lawsuit. The Turtle WoW team announced the complete shutdown of the project after reaching a settlement contingent upon certain actions. Developer Torta expressed the project's significant impact on their lives and the fond memories created over eight years. Turtle WoW offered a nostalgic experience reminiscent of the pre-expansion era of World of Warcraft without raising the maximum level or incorporating recent lore. The shutdown parallels the fate of another private server, Nostalrius, which closed before the announcement of World of Warcraft Classic. While some fan servers have received publisher approval, the Turtle WoW team's appeal for a licensing framework was unsuccessful, highlighting the challenges faced by independent developers in navigating intellectual property laws.

Changes announced by Pavan Davrli on March 20, 2026, include improved taskbar customization, enhanced control over Windows Update, and performance boosts for File Explorer. The Copilot button has been removed from applications like Snipping Tool and Notepad, but the AI-powered tools remain accessible under the name "Advanced features." Chrome's new Skills feature allows users to save AI prompts as one-click tools directly from their chat history. Users can trigger these prompts using a forward slash (/) or the plus (+) button. Skills can operate on the current page while also pulling data from other open tabs. This feature is designed to streamline repetitive tasks and improve user experience by applying saved prompts without needing to reconfigure them for different pages. User consent is prioritized for significant actions, and the update is currently available to select users on Chrome desktop with English-US language settings. Saved Skills will sync across all desktop devices for signed-in users. Users can manage their Skills by typing the forward slash (/) and clicking the compass icon.

PC Gamer's Mollie Taylor praised the Starsand Island demo in December 2025, while Lauren Morton called it "the first can't-miss cozy game of 2026" in February. The game is currently unavailable on Steam due to the developer, Seed Sparkle Lab, using unauthorized visual elements from a classic title in their mini-game section. They apologized for this oversight and are working on a new build to remove the contentious content. Fans speculate the classic title might be Tetris, but this is unconfirmed. Seed Sparkle has decided to temporarily delist Starsand Island and will reward current owners with the "Shining Star" outfit set once the revised version is approved. Players' progress will remain intact. The studio is enhancing its internal review processes following this incident and a previous wave of fake positive user reviews. A specific return date for the game on Steam has not been disclosed, but it is still available on the Xbox Store.
