Fandango has announced that the film adaptation of the video game A Minecraft Movie, produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, is the top pre-seller for PG-rated tickets in 2025. The film is set to release on April 4 and is projected to generate over a million in its opening weekend. It has strong appeal among female audiences under 35 (62% awareness) and male audiences in the same age bracket (66%). A Minecraft Movie has outperformed other PG-rated films for advance ticket sales, surpassing titles like Dog Man, Paddington in Peru, and Snow White. It ranks among the top three video game adaptations for ticket pre-sales in Fandango's history, alongside The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Five Nights at Freddy’s. The film is directed by Jared Hess and features a screenplay by Chris Bowman, Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener, Gavin James, and Chris Galleta. Jerramy Hainline, EVP of Fandango, noted the high anticipation among video game fans and families for the film.
