An update to Rockstar's PC launcher introduced a folder labeled "Red Dead Redemption," separate from the "Red Dead Redemption 2" directory. This update was highlighted by a prominent community member on Twitter but was quickly reverted. Speculation about a PC port of Red Dead Redemption 1 has been building since May, when a backend reference indicated it was "now playable on PC," and this phrase reappeared on the PlayStation Store in August. Originally released in 2010 for Xbox 360 and PS3, Red Dead Redemption has remained exclusive to those platforms, with a port to PS4 and Switch last year that disappointed fans due to its high price and lack of new features. The gaming community is hopeful for a PC edition that offers enhancements and accessibility.
