Promising good old fashioned co-op FPS action, Half-Life remake dev’s Rogue Point has finally hit early access

Rogue Point is a co-op, PvE FPS game developed by the creators of the Black Mesa Half-Life remake, recently launched in Steam Early Access. Players form squads of up to four resistance fighters against mercenaries hired by wealthy backers. Missions include objectives like eliminating targets, gathering intelligence, and rescuing hostages, with success yielding cash rewards for loadout improvements. The game features a Dead Drop mechanic for acquiring new gear without real-money transactions. Gameplay emphasizes tactical realism and strategic movement, with elements reminiscent of games like Ready or Not and Rainbow Six Siege, while also incorporating chaotic enemy types. Rogue Point is currently priced at .99 / £14.44, with a 20% discount for its first two weeks.

Mighty No. 9 studio Comcept, which somehow still existed, is now officially dead and buried

Mighty No. 9 was launched through a Kickstarter campaign in 2013, led by Keiji Inafune, but faced numerous delays and failed to meet backers' expectations. Comcept, the studio founded by Inafune in 2010, has been formally dissolved, marking the end of its operations. The studio struggled with the development of Mighty No. 9 and faced backlash from backers in 2015. A partnership with Fuze Entertainment to continue development did not materialize, and Comcept's other projects, including ReCore, did not impress. In 2017, Comcept was absorbed into Level-5, and Inafune left in 2024 after launching a Mega Man-inspired NFT collection.

The Darkest Dungeon board game fiasco is finally over, and as expected it’s ended in tears: ‘Mythic Games is no longer able to manufacture or deliver’ it, Red Hook says, so it’s giving away the game files to all backers

The board game adaptation of Darkest Dungeon, initially funded through a Kickstarter campaign that raised .7 million, has collapsed due to ongoing financial issues with the publisher, Mythic Games. Red Hook Studios announced that Mythic Games is unable to manufacture or deliver the game, citing rising production and shipping costs exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic and geopolitical tensions. Mythic Games ceased operations in December 2025, and a promise to provide backers with 3D printer files for the game’s miniatures was revealed to be misleading. Red Hook has decided to release all relevant game files to backers but lacks the expertise and funds to produce the board game itself.
