The latest update in Overwatch's Reign of Talon chapter has introduced five new heroes, the most significant addition since the game's launch. The current tier list categorizes 50 characters by role, with Domina being notably powerful, and Sigma remaining a top choice in competitive play. Other dominant tank characters include D.Va, Zarya, and Ramattra, while Winston is favored against unprepared teams. New heroes Anran and Emre are well-balanced, but established characters like Sojourn, Ashe, Cassidy, and Bastion continue to perform strongly. Vendetta has the highest win rate at approximately 55%. In the support category, Jetpack Cat is highlighted for her mobility and healing, while Mizuki is more situational. The top heroes by win rate are Vendetta (55.6%), Domina (54.4%), Mizuki (54.2%), Zenyatta (53.1%), and Doomfist (52.9%). Lower pick rate heroes often have higher win rates, emphasizing the need for mastery over popular choices.

Russian state media regulator Roskomnadzor has increased scrutiny of the messaging app Telegram due to concerns about fraud and user data security. Telegram has 93.6 million users in Russia, more than 60% of the population, and is essential for news, communication between officials and the public, and operational communication during the Ukraine conflict. Major news outlets have dedicated Telegram channels, and users can customize their news experience. Government officials use Telegram for direct updates, while opposition politicians and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky utilize it to communicate with supporters. Telegram is crucial for both Russian and Ukrainian troops for tactical coordination. The platform also hosts a variety of bloggers and is widely used for workplace communication. Despite government efforts to control Telegram, many users continue to access it through VPNs.

A segment of the community critiques Microsoft Windows for its user experience, particularly with Windows 11 facing criticism for sluggishness and user-unfriendliness. There is speculation that Microsoft could pivot towards a Windows-themed Linux distribution, especially as traditional PCs decline and alternatives like Valve’s Steam OS gain popularity. Microsoft has previously engaged with Linux through its cloud offerings, and while a Microsoft desktop Linux is not confirmed, the possibility exists. Users interested in Linux can explore options like a Windows skin, WINE for compatibility, or the .NET runtime on Linux systems.

Microsoft's Smart App Control feature in Windows 11 is designed to evaluate and block potentially harmful applications by cross-referencing them against a database of known safe software. Initially, it required a clean installation to enable or disable, which hindered its adoption. Recent updates have removed this requirement, allowing users to toggle the feature on or off directly through the Windows Security app without a system reset. This change addresses user complaints and enhances usability, particularly for developers and IT professionals managing multiple devices. The feature employs artificial intelligence for real-time decisions on app safety and integrates with other Microsoft security tools. Feedback from the tech community has been positive, highlighting the update as a significant improvement in balancing security and user flexibility.

Native Windows apps, once central to the desktop experience, are declining in favor of web-based technologies like Electron and Chromium. Developers are shifting towards web wrappers for cross-platform compatibility and efficiency, despite performance drawbacks. WhatsApp has transitioned from a native app to a web wrapper, prioritizing maintenance over performance. This trend is evident across various software categories, with applications like Spotify and Slack adopting web frameworks, leading to increased resource consumption and slower performance. Microsoft’s focus on cloud services and AI has influenced this shift, as has the demand for cross-platform solutions. Native apps are being overshadowed by web technologies, which often lack deep integration with Windows features. Performance trade-offs are significant, with web wrappers consuming more memory than native apps. The rise of progressive web apps (PWAs) and AI integration further complicates the landscape, suggesting a future where the definition of "native" may evolve. The tech community is divided on these changes, with some advocating for a balance between web and native solutions.

In the Building a Library quest in Arc Raiders, players must locate three specific books within the Library in the Buried City, which is north of Marano Park. The books include a detective novel, a romance story, and an adventure tale, all labeled as 'Library Books' and found in the same room. Players should first find a display stand with yellow books near a window overlooking the metro station entrance, then ascend the stairs to the balcony for another stand, and finally search a display stand on the east side of the balcony for the last book. Players need to collect all three books in one trip and can use the nearby subway station for a quick exit to deliver the books back to Apollo. The Library may be monitored by enemies, so stealth is advised.
