Minecraft Chaos Cubed update: Release date, features and more

Minecraft Java Snapshot Introduces New Mob and Sulfur Caves Biome

The Minecraft Java snapshot, named Chaos Cubed, introduces the Sulfur Caves biome, featuring Sulfur Springs and blocks of Sulfur and Cinnabar. Minecraft Bedrock 26.12 Released for Update 3.36/1.046

Mojang released a hotfix for Minecraft, designated as Bedrock 26.12 (console users recognize it as update 3.36/1.046), addressing several gameplay bugs, including an issue with the Members tab in Realms Stories and an allowlist problem for servers. Join our Twitch Tiny Takeover

The Twitch Tiny Takeover campaign, a collaboration between Twitch and Mojang Studios, will launch on April 6th at 9:00 AM PT. Streamers can participate by streaming at least one hour of Minecraft gameplay and may earn up to ,000. Viewers can earn hats by watching Minecraft streams for five minutes and can obtain a Baby Chick Badge by purchasing or gifting a subscription. Streamers must be part of the Twitch Affiliate Program to qualify for rewards. Rewards will be sent to Twitch inboxes and can be redeemed on Minecraft.net.

Minecraft players just got a preview packed with sulfur caves, bouncy springs, and chaotic features that feel straight out of an April Fools update. Plus, some actual April Fools update.

Minecraft recently introduced new features during its Minecraft Live event, including sulfur caves and sulfur cubes, which are now available for preview in the Bedrock Edition. Mojang is seeking player feedback to improve the sulfur update. Additionally, for the Java Edition, Mojang is preparing an April Fools snapshot called Herdcraft, which changes the inventory system by allowing players to use the entire world as their inventory. Players can access the latest Java Edition snapshot by enabling snapshots in the Minecraft Launcher.

Everything we know about Sulfur Cube in Minecraft

The upcoming release of Chaos Cubed for Minecraft introduces a new underground biome and a creature called the Sulfur Cube. The Sulfur Cube is a passive, bucketable mob found in the Sulfur Caves biome, immune to fall damage, and can split into smaller cubes upon impact. These smaller cubes can grow larger over time when nurtured with golden dandelions. The Sulfur Cube can absorb various blocks, including all wood variants, stone, coral, slime, honey, sculk, froglight, resin, ore, metallic blocks, ice, concrete, sulfur, and cinnabar, but cannot consume walls, stairs, slabs, or fences. Once it absorbs a block, it becomes impervious to damage from player attacks and most mobs, instead being launched away from the attack. Players can retrieve the absorbed block using shears. The Sulfur Cube is expected to debut in the second quarter of 2026, following its appearance in the recent Minecraft Bedrock beta.

Minecraft Bedrock Hotfix 26.12 Released as Update 3.35/1.045

Mojang released a new patch for Minecraft, Bedrock version 26.12, on March 31, which is recognized on consoles as Minecraft update 3.35/1.045 (complete version 1.045.000). The update includes fixes for several gameplay-disrupting bugs and resolves an issue in Realms Stories where the Members tab failed to load correctly. A previous patch for PC users corrected an issue with mouse camera sensitivity. Upcoming features include golden dandelions dropping from moobloom, enhanced utility for the Clock, Sniffers digging out golden dandelions, increased utility for Bats, expanded customization options for Banners, oysters as interactive ocean containers, and tadpole compatibility with golden dandelions.
