NVIDIA Neural Texture Compression: AI-powered compression aims to alleviate VRAM pressure in PC games

NVIDIA's Neural Texture Compression (NTC) improves memory efficiency in PC gaming by using small neural networks to compress texture data, achieving up to eight times better memory efficiency compared to traditional methods. In a technical demo, NTC reduced a scene's VRAM requirement from 6.5 GB to approximately 970 MB, an 85 percent reduction. The RTX Neural Texture Compression SDK has seen enhancements, including a 20 to 40 percent increase in inference speed. NTC is compatible with RTX hardware and Tensor Cores, but its real-world performance impact is yet to be determined. Microsoft is developing Cooperative Vectors and DirectX methodologies to support machine learning in graphics, which may facilitate broader adoption of NTC. The successful integration of NTC will depend on its stability, documentation, and economic viability for developers.

Duplicator cards amplify offensive capabilities, while gems that boost Might, Area, and Amount are essential for upgrading the strategy. The Reverse Combo gem is valuable with Golden Armor for additional damage. For single-target encounters, a card costing two Mana, such as the Holy Wand, is recommended. Accumulating gems like Echo or Copy allows for more Bones each turn, and a Clover card can help find powerful gems. Bilibili Games to release Lumi Master for mobile Android and iOS worldwide this Summer

Bilibili Games has announced the global release of their new mobile game, Lumi Master, which is a monster-capturing & raising RPG set to launch in summer 2026. Players can capture over 100 Lumis into cards, raise and evolve them through battles, and participate in multiplayer versus modes or trading with other players. The game will be available in multiple languages and a pre-registration campaign is ongoing with the chance to win a Nintendo Switch 2 sweepstake if 1 million registrants are reached.

New Slay the Spire 2 update reworks Ironclad’s most unpopular card and makes lower Ascensions easier

Developer Megacrit has released beta patch notes for Slay the Spire 2, focusing on refining the Ascension difficulty scaling. Changes include reduced HP for Scrolls of Biting, Owl Magistrate, and Slimed Berserker at lower Ascensions, while making them stronger at higher levels. The Vantom Act 1 boss has been nerfed, and the Waterfall Giant elite heals less in low-difficulty encounters. The team is monitoring the performance of the Act 3 boss, Doormaker, but is hesitant to make further changes.
