Xbox Reportedly Secures Exclusive Cloud Streaming Rights to GTA 6, Could Make Game Playable on PC at Launch

Xbox has secured exclusive streaming rights to Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), allowing players to access the game on PC via cloud streaming at launch without needing an Xbox console. The streaming deal is expected to start with the game's release in November. Xbox's Game Pass subscription model is also changing, with new pay-as-you-go plans launching in November for timed streaming access to GTA 6. Xbox's Chief Strategy Officer stated that pre-order numbers for GTA 6 are strong on their platform, while PlayStation has secured marketing rights and is promoting exclusive enhancements for the PS5 version.

Microsoft might bring Windows XP’s 3D Pinball to Windows 11, as Windows boss puts it on the list

Microsoft's Windows chief, Pavan Davuluri, acknowledged a fan's request for the return of 3D Pinball during the Inside Windows podcast. While he noted that 3D Pinball is part of a "matrix for things to think about," he clarified that no team is currently working on reviving the game, nor is it planned for Windows 11. The absence of 3D Pinball is attributed to technical challenges during the transition to 64-bit Windows. The nostalgia for classic Windows games has been highlighted, with a desire to incorporate more engaging features into Windows 11. Microsoft has an upcoming event on October 7, which may present an opportunity for surprises, though there is no indication that 3D Pinball will be featured.

Modder brings Nvidia Pascal GPU support to Windows XP 32-bit

Tech enthusiast SupraGSX has introduced support for Nvidia's Pascal-era graphics cards (10-series and Quadro P2000-P6000) on the Windows XP 32-bit platform through a custom driver called ForceWare 382.69. This driver combines legacy and modern technology, integrating firmware from Quadro 376.84 and supporting features from GeForce 378.78 designed for Windows 7. Supported graphics cards include GeForce GTX 970, 980, 980 Ti, GTX TITAN X, GTX 1060, 1070, 1070 Ti, 1080, 1080 Ti, GTX 1050 Ti (experimental), Quadro M4000, M5000, M6000, P2000, P2200, P4000, P5000, P6000, and additional OEM variants of GTX 950 and GTX 960. The driver also supports DisplayPort HBR2 and HBR3, ensuring HDMI 2.0 identification and improved HDMI/DVI handling. User feedback has been positive, particularly for ultrawide screens at high refresh rates. The project offers an installer package for download, and modders can access build instructions for modifications. There are inquiries about Windows XP 64-bit support, but a previous fork has been removed, with binaries still available on Mega. Users are advised to proceed with caution due to the unofficial nature of the drivers.
