Windows 11 is getting a native Feature Flags page, and it could make Vivetool obsolete

Fastfetch 2.61 System Information Tool Drops Windows 7 and 8 Support

Fastfetch version 2.61 has been released, discontinuing support for Windows 7 and 8, with Windows 8.1 as the oldest supported version. The GPU module on Windows now uses DXCore for improved detection accuracy, available only on Windows 10 and later. In the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), the GPU module has been optimized for speed but may have reduced accuracy due to the removal of directx-headers. On Linux, Fastfetch has transitioned to a pure C implementation, enhancing performance and simplifying the build process. New features include a brightness option for color display, detection of Bluetooth keyboards on Linux, display of empty memory slots, support for GlazeWM detection, identification of marketing product names on Asahi Linux, and recognition of M5-based Mac models on macOS. Resident Evil 4 Remake Drops Enigma DRM After Just 28 Days

Capcom replaced Denuvo DRM with Enigma for the 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4 on Steam, leading to significant performance issues reported by players. YouTuber ItalicMaze compared the game's performance with and without Enigma, revealing a decline in frame rates, particularly during intense gameplay. Digital Foundry confirmed an approximate 20-percent decrease in performance. In response to the backlash, Capcom removed the Enigma DRM on March 3, 28 days after the update, as noted in the SteamDB changelog. This incident follows a similar situation with Resident Evil Village in 2021, where pirated versions outperformed the official release due to the absence of DRM, leading Capcom to remove Denuvo from that game in April 2023 without replacement.
