Cyberpunk 2077 hits 30m sales

Cyberpunk 2077 has surpassed 30 million copies sold, as revealed by CD Projekt's CFO, Piotr Nielubowicz. The Phantom Liberty expansion has sold over eight million units. The original game and its expansion will soon be available on Mac devices powered by Apple Silicon chips. Additionally, a new animation project set in the Cyberpunk universe is in development for Netflix.

Alpine Partners with Minecraft in Huge New Formula1 Project

Minecraft: Oxfordshire school pupils among first to play F1 version

A group of schoolchildren from Middle Barton Primary School in Oxfordshire previewed a new motorsport-themed minigame within Minecraft at the headquarters of the Formula 1 team BWT Alpine. The minigame allows players to explore the F1 team's base in a Minecraft landscape, learning about the processes involved in creating and racing a Formula 1 car. It is part of Alpine's Race into STEM campaign aimed at increasing female participation in motorsport. Developed with Microsoft, the game features pixelated avatars of real-life team members, including team principal Oliver Oakes. The minigame is available for free on the Minecraft Education platform. BWT Alpine is currently sixth in the F1 constructors championship and recently achieved podium finishes in Brazil with drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly.

CD Projekt sales up 31% year-on-year

CD Projekt reported a 30.7% increase in net sales for the quarter ending June 30th, with revenues of PLN 424.8 million and an 88.7% increase in profit, reaching PLN 170 million. The success of Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion contributed to these results. The company plans to begin production on the new Witcher title, Polaris, and is developing another Cyberpunk installment, Orion. CFO Piotr Nielubowicz noted that financial reserves increased by over PLN 55 million despite distributing nearly PLN 100 million in dividends and allocating over PLN 150 million to new projects.
