Weekend PC Game Deals: Rhythm bundles, fishing festivals, and DRM-free summer sales

The Humble Store has launched its June Tunes collection, which includes three pricing tiers: the first tier features Wanderson, Everhood, and Onde; the second tier includes Rhythm Fighter, One Btn Bosses, and Oddada; and the top tier showcases Trombone Champ, DJMAX RESPECT V, and Ragnarock. Additionally, Humble has introduced the Serenity Forge Storyteller's Bundle, consisting of 12 indie games like LISA the Joyful, LISA the Painful, Neversong, Death's Gambit, and Smile for Me, divided into three pricing tiers. The Epic Games Store is offering The Operator for free until June 26, replacing Two Point Hospital. Three games are available for free weekend access: Victoria 3, Len's Island, and Dead by Daylight. Aaero2: Black Razor Edition Announced For PC & Consoles

Indie game developer Mad Fellows, in collaboration with publisher Wired Productions, has announced Aaero2: Black Razor Edition, which integrates new features, music packs, and previously released content for PC and consoles. The game offers an on-rails rhythm shooter experience where players navigate alien landscapes while tracing ribbons of light, synchronized with the soundtrack. It includes a single-player campaign, two-player co-op, and PvP modes, featuring over 20 unique levels and a redesigned combat system that encourages timing missile launches to the rhythm. The soundtrack includes tracks from Monstercat and Black Razor Records, with contributions from artists like Droptek, Muzz, Bossfight, Ivar & The Horde, Kieron Pepper, and Lania Kea. FBC: Firebreak doesn’t have the eldritch chaos I had hoped for so I’m going back to one of my favourite games that you’ve never played

FBC: Firebreak is a co-op shooting game that falls short of expectations, despite having amusing enemy designs and quirky objectives. The gameplay quickly becomes mundane, focusing on shooting enemies and grinding for gear. In contrast, SCP: Secret Laboratory offers a chaotic and engaging experience with randomly assigned roles and unpredictable scenarios, fostering memorable moments and camaraderie among players. SCP: Secret Laboratory features a variety of tools and items that enhance gameplay, such as powerful weapons and whimsical gadgets, which contribute to its dynamic atmosphere. Firebreak lacks the wild energy and unpredictability that characterize SCP: Secret Laboratory.

Sony unlocks regional restrictions for some PC games in more than 100 countries

Sony has removed regional restrictions on several popular PC titles available on Steam, allowing players in 177 countries to access games like God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Spider-Man 2, and Helldivers 2. This change follows a backlash against a previous requirement for players to link their Steam accounts to the PlayStation Network (PSN), which barred access in regions without PSN. The PSN requirement has since been lifted for other titles, and the optional PSN login for Stellar Blade led to a successful launch with nearly 200,000 players in its first week. However, some titles, such as Ghost of Tsushima and Until Dawn, still have regional restrictions.

I’m glad Sony PlayStation finally got rid of PC game region locks

Sony has begun to reverse its policy of region-locking PC games, allowing titles such as Helldivers 2, God of War Ragnarök, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 to be purchased in previously restricted regions. This change follows backlash against the region locks implemented over a year ago, which had led to negative reactions from players. While many restrictions have been lifted, seven countries—Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, and Vietnam—remain blacklisted.
