The new version allows users to see their Windows PCs directly on the Android share sheet, facilitating easier file transfers without navigating through the “send to PC” menu. Users can now select a file, tap the share button, and choose “Link to Windows [Send to PC]” to wirelessly send files to their connected Windows PCs, which are stored in the “Phone Link” directory within the Downloads folder. The update utilizes the Android API for Direct Share targets, enabling quicker access to frequently used Windows PCs. Users need at least version 1.24032.518.0 on their Android devices and version 1.24032.156.0 on their Windows PCs for this feature. Additionally, a recent Windows update added a “My Phone” icon in the Windows share menu, allowing users to manage Android files directly from Windows file explorer.
