Google experiments with ditching the Favorites tab in the Phone app for a simpler layout

The update removes the dedicated Favorites tab, replacing it with a horizontal row of favorite contacts at the top of the Recents screen. A new Add button has been added to allow users to link directly to their contact list for adding more favorites. Pixel VIPs app makes an early appearance on the Play Store

One UI 8 finally expands support for an Android 15 feature sorely missed on One UI 7
