Developer Starry Studio has introduced significant updates to the survival game Once Human, including a new class system, a PvP-centric Raid Zone, and a crossover with Palworld. A new decorative item in the game’s loot crates, specifically an exercise bike, has sparked controversy due to its similarities to the Base Teleport Module from No Man's Sky. Hello Games' Sean Murray responded humorously to the criticism, while Starry Studio confirmed it would remove the contentious item. The Thunder Overload cosmetic lineup features outfits and a weapon skin that transforms the SKS into a mechanical dragon. Earlier this year, Once Human was also accused of borrowing design elements from Rainbow Six Siege. Starry Studio has pledged to replace the disputed asset and review their art and design policies, emphasizing the importance of originality and community feedback.

A malicious Rust package named "evm-units," uploaded by a user called "ablerust" to crates.io in mid-April 2025, poses a significant threat to developers on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It has over 7,000 downloads and is designed to execute its payload stealthily, depending on the victim's operating system and the presence of Qihoo 360 antivirus. The package disguises itself as a function that returns the Ethereum version number and can detect Qihoo 360 antivirus software. It downloads and executes different payloads based on the operating system: a script for Linux, a file for macOS, and a PowerShell script for Windows. If the antivirus is not detected, it creates a Visual Basic Script wrapper to run a hidden PowerShell script. The package targets the Web3 community, particularly developers, and is linked to the widely used "uniswap-utils" package. Both "evm-units" and "uniswap-utils" have been removed from the repository.

In Arc Raiders, players face gameplay mechanics that involve weapon swapping, reloading, healing, and climbing, which add strategic depth. Transporting crates for accessing Field Depots leaves players defenseless as they must drop their weapons. In the dangerous environment of Stella Montis, players carry power cells to unlock doors, increasing tension. Many players avoid looting Field Depots due to the associated risks. Players can use stamina to boost movement speed, but the pace remains slow, leading to vulnerability. A unique feature allows players to sprint backwards while carrying items, offering a slightly faster pace at the cost of visibility. Enhancing stamina through skill upgrades is recommended for efficiency, as minimizing time spent carrying heavy crates is crucial for survival.

The launch of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection has renewed interest in classic fighting games on PC, but players face challenges with the AI, which often uses ruthless tactics that create an unfair experience. This can lead to frustration and the development of bad habits that do not apply to real player interactions. In contrast, Virtua Fighter 5 offers a remastered mode with over a thousand CPU challengers that encourages strategic play. Games like Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3 allow for creative freedom in gameplay, enabling players to craft unique builds and strategies. Terraria provides a randomly generated world for players to explore or build in, while Tetris The Grand Master 4 offers varying levels of engagement based on player choice. The term "SNK boss" refers to unfair CPU opponents that disrupt gameplay balance, similar to the AI in Mortal Kombat. True hardcore games invite players to explore challenges and skill in diverse ways, emphasizing personal expression in gaming.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 focuses on park-building, allowing players to raise dinosaurs and manage attractions. The gameplay includes constructing enclosures, managing resources, and ensuring dinosaur well-being, with familiar mechanics of research, hatching, and nurturing. Quality-of-life improvements enable automation of tasks like repairing fences and tending to sick dinosaurs, enhancing the creative aspects of park management. While the thrill of releasing dinosaurs remains, their behavior lacks depth, and the game emphasizes construction and management over the unpredictable nature of dinosaurs. Challenges, such as velociraptor escapes, lack lasting consequences, and the challenge mode consists of timed tasks that do not fully capture the unpredictability of managing a dinosaur park. Overall, the game does not significantly advance the series, feeling more like an extension of previous titles.

Facepunch Studios is introducing an update to Rust that encourages players to leave their virtual homes and engage with abandoned monuments, which are key locations for intense combat. The update includes a new progression system for workbenches, requiring players to find blueprint fragments within these monuments, which are tied to puzzles and high-end loot. Monuments have been revamped for increased interactivity, with expanded keycard puzzles and upgraded challenges. The update aims to promote player engagement in territorial battles and slow down clan dominance. Additional changes include shuffled loot crates, drones with storage capabilities, rebalanced primitive mode weapons, and new resource crates for beginners. This update is the last significant patch before the upcoming Naval update in November, which will introduce nautical gameplay elements.

Players in Dying Light The Beast can obtain the Last Hand of gloVa, a powerful consumable weapon that allows them to make zombies explode using hand gestures. To find this item, players must locate a wall marked with '9 ¾' near a monastery, which leads to a hidden tunnel. Inside, they can dismantle barricades made of pixelated bricks to access a chamber with a golden train, where the Last Hand of gloVa is located.
