David R.B. created the YouTube channel Squared Media over a decade ago, focusing on Minecraft animations that have evolved from episodic content to grand cinematic experiences. The channel's standout video, “Animation Life,” has 250 million views, while other notable videos include “Song of War” with 64 million views and “Worlds Apart” with 41 million views. The animations feature unique storylines, improved quality, and themes of sacrifice and battling evil, with five tutorials available for aspiring animators using Blender. The content includes frequent violence, minimal blood, and darker themes typical of the Minecraft universe, such as potion-drinking and battles against necromancers. The oldest series, a Halo animation, contains some mild language, while the Minecraft content is generally suitable for a younger audience despite its violent elements.

Nier: Automata features 26 possible endings and showcases complex storytelling. Director Yoko Taro expressed that the game's development was challenging, stating he had "no idea where to start" and sought a fresh perspective for each project. He reflects on his creative process as an ongoing refinement, comparing storytelling to sculpting a cube from clay, where imperfections remain. Taro acknowledges the pressure of deadlines, which leads to a bittersweet conclusion where he feels some satisfaction but also recognizes flaws. He notes that revisiting past works can evoke nostalgia, and while he never feels he has created the perfect scenario, he finds solace in the effort invested. Taro embraces the transient nature of creativity, acknowledging the need for closure despite the absence of complete satisfaction.

Minecraft features two primary modes: Creative and Survival. In Creative mode, players are invulnerable and can focus on building and experimenting without danger. This mode is ideal for familiarizing oneself with the game’s features. Survival mode presents a challenging experience where players engage in an endgame quest to defeat the Ender Dragon and must manage resources to thrive. Additionally, there are other gameplay options: Hardcore mode, where players have only one life and lose all progress upon death; Spectator mode, which allows exploration without interaction; and Adventure mode, focused on player-created maps with restrictions on damaging the environment.
