New D&D Minecraft Expansion Now Available for Download

Dungeons & Dragons: A New Quest is an expansion for Minecraft that was released on February 20, 2025. It invites players to embark on a narrative-driven adventure in the Forgotten Realms, featuring new gameplay mechanics, locations, magic items, monsters, and dialogue options. The expansion continues the story of protagonists Katra and Vaer, who aim to reclaim Vaer’s stolen soul. Players can choose from four classes: Barbarian, Rogue, Wizard, and Paladin, each with unique abilities. The game can be downloaded from the Minecraft Marketplace for approximately 1510 Minecoins, and players who download it before March 20, 2025, will receive a complimentary Dragon Mask character item. A New Quest shifts from the turn-based mechanics of the previous D&D DLC released in 2023 to a more action-oriented approach.

Google Play Store makes searching for apps harder on tablets

The Google Play Store for Android tablets has removed the search bar from its main screen and introduced a new Search tab for locating apps. This change requires an additional click for navigation compared to the previous setup. Users can double-tap the Search tab icon to quickly access the section and prompt the keyboard for faster searches. The new Search tab offers personalized suggestions, app collections, and sponsored content, but Google has not replaced the retired search bar with a smaller button for easier access.

Xite brings Android TV app to UK, Germany, Canada

Streaming music video platform Xite has launched its connected TV app on the Android TV operating system in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada, following its earlier debut in the Netherlands and the United States. The app allows users to download it from the Google Play Store and offers curated playlists organized by genres, eras, and visual styles. Xite is also available on free, ad-supported streaming television platforms such as Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Fire TV Channels, Amazon Freevee, and Pluto TV in select regions. Users can create their own genre-based playlists, skip videos, and pause music videos. In the U.S., the app is accessible on platforms including Comcast’s Xfinity X1, Xumo, Android TV (Google TV), Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Samsung smart TVs.

JioTV+ App for Android TV, Apple TV and Amazon Fire OS Devices Launched

Reliance Jio has launched the JioTV+ app for Android, Apple, and Amazon Fire OS TVs, expanding its availability beyond the Jio set-top box. The app offers over 800 digital TV channels across various languages and genres, along with access to content from 13 OTT platforms for Jio Fiber and Jio Air Fiber subscribers. The app features a unified login, modern navigation, and personalized recommendations. It is available for users on specific eligible plans: all JioAirFiber plans, JioFiber Postpaid plans of Rs. 599 and above, and JioFiber Prepaid plans of Rs. 999 and above. The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for Android TV, with support for LG OS TVs expected soon, while it is not compatible with Samsung TVs that do not run on Android. Users without a smart TV can access the app via a Jio set-top box.
