Sales revenue dips at CD Projekt for 2024, but profitability has increased

CD Projekt recorded sales revenue of zł985 million for the 2024 financial year, a 17 percent decrease from the previous year. The revenue included zł588.8 million from Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion. The company's net profit declined by 2.5 percent to zł469.9 million, while the net profit margin improved from 39.1 percent to 47.7 percent, largely due to CD Projekt Red's profit margin of 58.5 percent. GOG reported a profit margin of 0.6 percent. CFO Piotr Nielubowicz noted that Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion generated nearly 600 million PLN in earnings, and The Witcher 3 continues to attract players. Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski announced plans for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on macOS and a new animation project set for release on Netflix in 2024.

Cyberpunk 2077 hits 30m sales

Cyberpunk 2077 has surpassed 30 million copies sold, as revealed by CD Projekt's CFO, Piotr Nielubowicz. The Phantom Liberty expansion has sold over eight million units. CD Projekt sales up 31% year-on-year

CD Projekt reported a 30.7% increase in net sales for the quarter ending June 30th, with revenues of PLN 424.8 million and an 88.7% increase in profit, reaching PLN 170 million. The success of Cyberpunk 2077 and its Phantom Liberty expansion contributed to these results. The company plans to begin production on the new Witcher title, Polaris, and is developing another Cyberpunk installment, Orion. CFO Piotr Nielubowicz noted that financial reserves increased by over PLN 55 million despite distributing nearly PLN 100 million in dividends and allocating over PLN 150 million to new projects.

Universal is working on a Ruiner film

Universal Pictures has secured the rights to adapt the indie game Ruiner, originally released by Polish studio Reikon in 2017. Director Wes Ball will lead the project, with the screenplay written by Michael Arlen Ross. Producers Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, known for Bullet Train and Fall Guy, will oversee production through their company, 87North. Ruiner has sold over four million copies worldwide and is recognized for its fast-paced action and cyberpunk universe. Reikon's developers announced the film adaptation on Twitter, expressing excitement about bringing the world of Rengkok to life. Wes Ball is also working on a live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
