It’s the first time I’ve ever missed a Minecraft Live — but I still caught all the best Minecraft announcements

Minecraft Live goes copper-heavy — and the surprises aren’t over

Mojang Studios will host Minecraft Live events twice a year, with the next event scheduled for September 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. CEST. The event will showcase the upcoming "The Copper Age" update, which is expected to introduce new features, including the Copper Golem and copper-themed items. A specific release date for "The Copper Age" has not been disclosed, but it may be announced during the event, with speculation of a surprise launch. The update will mark the third game drop of the year, with a fourth anticipated for winter. Mojang is also expected to reveal additional features during the event, including new shelves and decorative blocks made from copper. The Minecraft Live Mob Vote will not return.

Minecraft The Copper Age Update Release Date and Details – Minecraft Guide

The Copper Age is the latest update in the Minecraft universe, expected to launch sometime in 2025. It introduces the Copper Golem, which can be summoned by placing a carved pumpkin on a copper block, and features a sorting mechanism for items. The Golem oxidizes over time and can be transformed into a statue, which can be posed and reawakened. The update includes a complete set of Copper tools (Pickaxe, Axe, Hoe, Shovel, Sword) that are more durable than Stone but less effective than Iron, as well as Copper armor and horse armor. Decorative blocks such as Copper Lanterns, Torches, Chains, Bars, and oxidizable Lightning Rods will also be added. A new block called the Shelf allows players to display items and swap them in their hotbar, with the capability to connect multiple shelves. Additionally, the art icons for Dyes have been refreshed for better identification.
