Google Calendar offers five viewing options: Schedule, Day, 3 Day, Week, and Month. The 3 Day view is favored for balancing detailed hour slots with broader day views, but it can feel too immediate for long-term planning, necessitating a switch to the Month view. A hidden feature allows users to access a month overview while in other views by tapping or pulling down on the month’s name. However, when in Month view, the number of displayed hours is limited, requiring users to swipe up to create events, which collapses the month view. A proposed improvement is a button next to the month’s name to lock the calendar in place, allowing for easier navigation without losing the month view.

In a recent update to the Phone by Google app, the Favorites tab has been moved from the bottom of the screen to the top, with an arrow indicating its functionality. For beta users, tapping the down arrow reveals five favorite contacts and a button to add new favorites. This redesign improves user experience and layout, allowing more space for Recents, Contacts, and Voicemail tabs, and makes the Floating Action Button (FAB) for the dial pad more accessible. The update is available on devices like the Pixel 6 Pro running Android 16 QPR1 Beta, version 182.0.779772896-publicbeta. Users not seeing the new feature may be awaiting a server-side rollout. Pixel users can check the app version by navigating to Settings > Apps > See all apps, locating the Phone app, and scrolling to the bottom of the App info page.

TikTok has introduced a swipe-up gesture for video consumption, which has been adopted by competitors like Instagram and YouTube. YouTube is exploring the integration of this swipe-up feature into its standard video player, which is typically designed for horizontal viewing. This potential change was noted by Digital Trends contributor Tushar Mehta, who highlighted user skepticism about scrolling on long-form videos. Reactions on social media have been largely negative, with users expressing frustration and humor about the idea. Currently, this change is an unofficial test on Android devices, and YouTube has not made any formal statements regarding its implementation.
