Footage from GTA 6 has been leaked, reportedly captured from an actual build of the game. Industry insiders suggest that the footage is likely from a PC version rather than a console, with two developers from major studios confirming this theory. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick indicated that the initial focus will be on console gamers. The leaked footage shows impressive visuals, raising questions about the hardware needed for optimal performance, with speculation about the necessity of high-end graphics cards. Initial impressions suggest a frame rate closer to 30 fps, and while the visuals look promising, the exact settings are unknown. The gaming community is left to speculate about hardware requirements and the potential for a PC release.

3D Pinball was a space-themed game included in Windows XP since its debut in 1995. It was removed with the launch of Windows Vista due to a bug in the code that caused the game to be unplayable, not because of legal issues as commonly believed. The bug occurred during the transition of Windows XP to 64-bit architecture, where the ball would drop into the launcher and fall through the plunger. Microsoft engineer Raymond Chen, who worked on the project, noted that the original code was largely undocumented, making it difficult to fix. The game was licensed from Cinematronics and Maxis, which limited Microsoft's rights to bundling it within Windows and its Plus! packs, preventing a standalone release. Attempts to revive the game were hindered by these legal constraints. As of 2022, no official version of 3D Pinball has been included in Windows 11, and the licensing situation remains complicated due to the acquisition of Cinematronics and Maxis by Electronic Arts.

In February, Epic Games announced plans to enhance the Epic launcher, aiming for a five-fold increase in startup speed by June, along with improvements to the storefront, such as personalized game recommendations and easier access to categories and patch notes. Market analyst Emmanuel Rosier expressed doubt about Epic's ability to compete with Steam, noting that players often collect free games without engaging with them. He suggested that Epic has overextended itself by competing on multiple fronts but acknowledged positive developments in Fortnite, particularly its integration of characters from other franchises and new gameplay elements focused on collection. Despite these advancements, Rosier remains skeptical about Epic's recovery in the marketplace.
