Homey has launched dedicated applications for Android TV and LG webOS to integrate device controls, automations, and smart home dashboards on TVs. Users can log in by scanning a QR code, allowing for remote navigation. The app features quick access to favorites, enabling users to manage devices and automations easily. Homey has also introduced a browser-based platform at homey.tv, compatible with vehicle browsers, including those in Teslas, allowing tasks like opening garage doors remotely. The applications support Homey Cloud, Homey Pro, Homey Pro mini, and self-hosted Homey Server setups, with the LG webOS app compatible with smart TVs from 2021 or later, subject to regional availability.

Google is rolling out enhancements to the Google Home app, featuring a redesigned interface organized into three tabs: Home, Activity, and Automations. The Activity tab provides insights into device actions, while Home Premium subscribers receive Home Brief summaries. The Automations tab includes a new editor for creating customized routines, and the app has improved performance, loading over 70% faster on select Android devices and reducing crashes by nearly 80%. Gemini is central to the updates, allowing for more intuitive interactions with smart home devices through natural language commands. Users can express requests without needing precise phrasing, and Gemini introduces ten new voices for a more engaging experience. The integration of Gemini with Nest cameras enhances navigation through footage, with features like responsive jog controls and faster video loading speeds—up to 30% faster and a 40% reduction in playback errors. The Ask Home feature assists users with requests, available to both free and Home Premium subscribers, and Nest functionalities have been integrated into the Home app for managing devices like Nest Thermostats and receiving alerts from Nest Protect.

Google Home has introduced a new Device tab on its web interface, now available for all users, aimed at improving the management of smart home devices. This update allows users to toggle lights on and off and adjust brightness, but does not yet support color settings or color temperature adjustments. The web interface offers a larger display compared to the mobile app, although it currently lacks some functionalities found in the app. Google is working on expanding controls for a wider range of device types. Users can access the updated web interface at home.google.com.
