Microsoft has released the Windows 11 Insider Experimental Preview Build 26300.8497, introducing new accessibility features including a Screen Tint option, Voice Isolation in Voice Access, and upgrades to Magnifier and Narrator. The Screen Tint setting allows users to apply a color overlay to reduce screen brightness, beneficial for those with eye strain. It can be accessed in the Settings menu under Accessibility and operates independently of the Night Light feature. The update also enhances Narrator by adding support for plug-and-play braille displays that comply with the HID standard, allowing immediate connection via USB without additional drivers. Compatible braille models include Orbit Reader 20, Orbit Slate 340, Freedom Scientific Focus 40, and APH Mantis Q40. The build addresses several bugs, including a crash in explorer.exe, duplicate Energy Saver quick settings, and issues with audio muting on certain devices. Build 26300.8497 is being rolled out to the Windows 11 Insider Experimental channel, with no announcement yet on availability for the broader user base.

GameNative allows users to play PC games on Android devices without an internet connection, supporting Steam titles, Epic Games Store, Good Old Games (GOG), and standalone game files. It features a known configs capability that optimizes game settings for better performance. The app's creator, Utkarsh Dalal, aims for GameNative to replace handheld PCs within two years, despite challenges related to compatibility with ARM-based chips. The Snapdragon 8 Elite and 8 Elite Gen 5 processors promise significant enhancements, and the release of Turnip drivers in early 2026 has improved gaming experiences on these devices. GameNative is free and open-source, with a monetization strategy focused on partnerships with game stores. It has recently added support for the Pixel 10 family, which uses an Imagination PowerVR GPU. The app collects user feedback to refine game configurations and plans to improve compatibility and support for third-party launchers.

A critical vulnerability, CVE-2024-55638, has been identified in Drupal Core, affecting installations using PostgreSQL as their backend database. This vulnerability involves PHP Object Injection, which can lead to full Remote Code Execution (RCE) when combined with another deserialization flaw. It cannot be exploited independently but increases the risk for Drupal installations that use third-party modules or custom code that improperly employs the unserialize() function. The affected versions include Drupal Core 7.x prior to 7.102, 8.0.0 and above prior to 10.2.11, and 10.3.0 prior to 10.3.9, with patched versions being 7.102, 10.2.11, and 10.3.9. The vulnerability is particularly relevant for sites using PostgreSQL, and organizations are urged to upgrade to the patched versions and audit their code for unsafe unserialize() usage. Currently, there are no confirmed reports of exploitation in the wild, but the risk remains high due to insecure deserialization bugs in third-party modules. The EPSS score for this vulnerability is 9.93%, indicating a significant likelihood of exploitation in the near future.

The ROG Xbox Ally X, branded as a portable Xbox by Microsoft, has a complex update process involving Xbox Mode, Asus' Armory Crate, and Windows 11. Xbox Mode has improved recently, adding features like third-party launcher integration and enhanced stability. Winhanced, a third-party launcher for Windows 11 handhelds, offers a customizable interface and supports cloud gaming, but has reliability issues and struggles with automatic artwork sourcing. Users can save battery life by adjusting settings for Winhanced's sleep/wake feature. Despite its advantages, Winhanced is not yet a reliable alternative to Xbox Mode, which remains the preferred launcher for handheld gaming. Winhanced is developed by a small team and has shown significant improvement, but it still has limitations compared to Xbox Mode.

NVIDIA has released an update to its GPU display drivers that addresses 14 vulnerabilities across its product lines, including GeForce, RTX, Quadro, Tesla, NVS, vGPU, and Cloud Gaming software. The most critical vulnerability is CVE‑2026‑24187, a high-severity use-after-free bug rated 8.8 out of 10, which could allow code execution, privilege escalation, data theft, or system crashes. Linux systems are vulnerable due to improper access to GPU resources at the kernel level, while Windows systems are at risk from a timing flaw. Two vulnerabilities in NVIDIA’s Unified Virtual Memory subsystem on Linux could lead to denial-of-service attacks without elevated permissions. The vGPU software also received patches for vulnerabilities in its virtual GPU manager component. Users can download the updated drivers from the NVIDIA Driver Downloads page or the NVIDIA Licensing Portal, with Windows users needing version 569.49 or newer and Linux users needing version 590.48.01. Users are advised to maintain their antivirus programs for enhanced security. NVIDIA thanked external security researchers for their responsible disclosure of these vulnerabilities.
