The live-action adaptation of Minecraft is set to be released in theaters on April 4th. The film's soundtrack features an original song titled “I Feel Alive,” performed by Jack Black and featuring Dave Grohl on drums. The song has an ’80s rock vibe and was created in collaboration with songwriters and producers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Danielle Brooks provides additional vocals, and Troy Van Leeuwen plays guitar. Black and Grohl have a history of collaboration, including work with Black's band, Tenacious D. The official soundtrack will also include an original score by Mark Mothersbaugh. The film's cast includes Black, Brooks, Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, and Jennifer Coolidge. Black will promote the film by hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live on April 5th. Tenacious D is currently on hiatus but will return in the future.
