‘I was nice to you three times in a row, so can I have one sex please?’: Why Nivalis Nights intentionally avoided transactional romances

Nivalis Nights combines storytelling and shop simulation with relationship dynamics, allowing players to interact with characters in ways that shape four attitudes: friendly, combative, romantic, and savvy. The dialogue options do not provide clear indicators, leading to ambiguous interactions that can result in unintended outcomes, such as offending a character or flirting unintentionally. Some characters hint at potential romantic paths, while others are less clear about their intentions. Lead writer Thomas Welsh notes that this design choice intentionally diverges from traditional romance systems in games, which often use clear markers to guide players. The lack of tone markers in dialogue requires players to interpret their interactions, resulting in varied experiences where relationships may develop unexpectedly or remain platonic.

Wardogs will bribe players with cash and XP to pick Blue team in Season 2

- Lonestar cash and XP bonuses are introduced for Season 2, along with a new Bakurani spawn. - Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer stated they are looking to improve the win rate of the Blue team. - Players have historically avoided the Blue team due to balancing issues, such as poor camouflage and spawn points. - The stigma surrounding the Blue team may be self-perpetuating, as players who struggle with it tend to avoid it, leading to a cycle of less experienced players choosing Blue. - The introduction of XP and cash incentives aims to change the dynamics of team selection, with expectations that Blue will become more popular in Season 2. - Recent observations indicate that the Blue team is becoming more competitive, scoring points and achieving victories on NA West servers. - The October 15 patch for Wardogs will introduce new firearms, vehicles, rainy weather across all maps, and will reset player progress, marking the first progression wipe.

No, GTA 6 won’t be playable on PC via Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Microsoft doesn’t have exclusive streaming rights either, exec clarifies

Matthew Ball, chief strategy officer at Xbox, clarified that GTA 6 will not be available for streaming on PC and will not be an exclusive offering for Xbox. He stated that while the game will launch on Xbox on November 19, it will not be streamed exclusively or to PC. The Xbox Cloud Streaming app for PC will not include GTA 6, and the decision to exclude PC from streaming options is notable given Rockstar Games' history of favoring console releases. Additionally, Xbox's new streaming limitations will restrict players to 15 hours of gameplay under the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, with extra hours available for purchase, coinciding with the release of GTA 6.

Free-to-play playtime is broadly flat as gacha RPGs drive PC growth, says Newzoo

The Newzoo analysis indicates that the share of playtime for free-to-play (F2P) games is expected to decrease by 2.9 percentage points from 2021 to 2025, reaching 29.3%, although total hours spent on these games remain stable. The decline is linked to the rise of premium games and platforms like Roblox, with F2P playtime on PC increasing while it wanes on consoles. The number of F2P live-service launches peaked at 36 in 2017 but has since dropped by 31%, averaging 14.7 titles from 2023 to 2025. Revenue concentration among the top five F2P titles is decreasing, with their share on consoles falling from 79% in 2021 to 72% in 2025, and from 68% to 65% on PC. Gacha games are growing significantly, with major titles expected to increase from three in 2021 to 17 by 2025, and PC gacha playtime rising by 92%. RPGs are the only F2P genre gaining market share on both platforms, with PC RPG playtime increasing by 5.3 percentage points to 14.3%. New releases include EA Sports Madden NFL 27 debuting at No. 2 on console and Big Walk at No. 3 on PC.

Some Android apps may struggle on Intel Googlebooks

Five brands launched Googlebook laptops in early October, with three models using Intel processors (Acer Googlebook 14, ASUS Googlebook 14, Lenovo Googlebook 15) and two using Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips (Dell XPS and HP models). The laptops became available for purchase on October 4 in the U.S. and October 5 in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia. The Acer model is priced starting at 9 in the U.S. Initial demand has been strong, particularly for the Acer model. Google acknowledged that while most applications run smoothly on both platforms, some complex applications may require optimization on Intel. Users reliant on resource-intensive applications may want to consider waiting for reviews or choosing a Snapdragon model.
