You can ‘Press to Talk’ to Copilot via a Windows hotkey now

Microsoft Copilot now offers complimentary unlimited access to its top two features for all users. A new feature called Press to Talk has been introduced in the latest Windows 11 Insider build, allowing users to initiate voice chat by holding down the Alt key and the Spacebar for two seconds. If there is a pause in conversation, the AI will automatically conclude the chat, and pressing the Esc key will end the interaction. Users can customize Copilot's voice and settings through the Copilot web page. The update (version 1.25024.100.0 and higher) is being gradually rolled out to Windows Insiders, with a potential transition to the production version of Windows expected based on user feedback.

10 bugs still haunt Windows 11 24H2 despite multiple patches

In October, Microsoft released the Windows 11 24H2 update, enhancing Copilot AI and improving File Explorer, performance, and stability. The update is available for Windows 11 versions 23H2 and 22H2 through Windows Update or Microsoft's Download Windows 11 page. However, the update has encountered multiple bugs, leading Microsoft to pause it for certain problematic PCs. Several patches have been released to address these issues, including initial fixes in late October, further resolutions in mid-November, and specific updates for USB device issues, conflicts with Ubisoft games, and an optional preview update in January. Ongoing issues include AutoCAD 2022 not opening, conflicts with Citrix components, Easy Anti-Cheat causing blue screens, driver incompatibilities leading to blue screens, internet connection problems, broken clipboard history, network sharing failures, printer setup issues on Copilot+ PCs, audio output glitches, and Outlook failing to launch with Google Workspace Sync. Microsoft has acknowledged these problems and is working on solutions while maintaining a Known Issues and Notifications page.

This Microsoft app is the latest to get infused with Copilot

Copilot+ PCs currently lack a standout feature to differentiate them from competitors. Microsoft is enhancing Copilot+ PCs with innovative features. A new Copilot menu in Paint will consolidate all AI tools into one interface, including the DALL-E-powered Cocreator, which will remain exclusive to Copilot+ PCs. Additionally, Windows Insiders with Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon can now use AI for content searches within File Explorer, with plans to extend this feature to Intel and AMD devices. This improved search allows users to find content using natural language queries.
